About Me

I am an Associate Professor of Mathematics and Scott D. Hannah Faculty Fellow at Iowa State University. My primary area of research is in Discrete Mathematics, primarily Graph Theory and Combinatorics. I also have an interest in equity and inclusion in mathematics, in particular, the impacts that race and mathemactics culture and learning have on one another.

My career has been about protecting and supporting the sanctity of mathematics, while providing positive mathematical experiences for those marginalized and rendered invisible by it's culture. For me, this means doing respected research in highly valued spaces and using my experiences and platform to create programming and communities that support, develop, advocate for, and inspire diversity in mathematics.

I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I enjoy traveling, cooking, football, and playing poker.
